Double Bias Carbon Fiber In Stock!

We now are stocking 12oz double bias carbon fiber! This is a knitted reinforcement that consists of 2 plys of carbon, on ply laid down at 45 degrees, and the other ply opposite at -45 degrees then stitched together. This construction allows the fibers to perform better than woven fibers as a straight fiber begins to take up stress sooner than a crimped fiber. This material is useful in a variety of structural applications.

Part Number C53-7396, 1-3 yards $47.00 per yard, 4-15 yards $36.43, 16 yards + $32.90, full rolls (around 100 yards) $29.85 per yard

Hollow Wood Surfboard Build

We just got these in from Mark Lott in Oregon. He is building an 8' hollow wood surfboard from a Wood Surfboard Supply frame kit that he purchased through us.

He's laid the deck up with a tapered ray design using 3 different wood species. I understand he's had quite the time shopping for wood...
Here's a picture showing the internal structure on the underside of the deck.

Mark went ahead and drilled lightening holes into the ribs. This looks great!

Carbon Fiber Bow Pole Build

We recently had a customer building his own 44' cruising catamaran decide to build his own carbon fiber bow poles. Here are the links to his build:

It is an interesting read and if you are considering doing some tubing well worth reviewing.

Cheers
